![]() When the picture was later shown on a broadcast of A Current Affair, a friend of the Calicos saw the broadcast and alerted Patty Doel that the girl in the photo looked like Tara. She contacted local LE, who set up a roadblock to attempt to apprehend the van and its driver (whom the witness had described to police). She had a job as a bank teller and was going to school to study. She was an extrovert and often stayed active. ![]() ![]() She was known to be full of life and energy. I believe there are some- including this one- that may have been released in conjunction with the Vanished: Tara Calico podcast I think the host has a connection to the Calico family, who likely had or kept copies of the pictures for themselves along with sending copies to NCMEC and the FBI (among other law enforcement agencies).Įdit: I should probably make clear that there were a number of pictures sent directly to the Calico family, which they turned over to LE. Outside of the most famous shot, they're rarely seen, since- and I can't emphasize this enough- they have thoroughly been debunked by the subjects of the pictures. If you dig back through my comment history, you'll see that I've recounted a few times that I worked at NCMEC for a while in the early 00's I've seen a copy of the "famous" Polaroid in person and discussed it with the guys in the forensic imaging unit at length when I did my orientation. The "famous" one is one of a very very small number that haven't been able to be debunked. I believe it's one of a number of pictures that were sent in the Tara Calico case (although not the famous one) that were ruled out as being her.
